Registration to our Summer Break 2024 CHESS & MATH Camps is now open! Select from our full-day and half-day weekly camps offered across all weeks of the summer break as per below schedule (except stat holidays):

Week 1: July 2nd to 5th, 2024 (4 days) *FULL*
Week 2: July 8th to 12th, 2024 (5 days) *AVAILABLE*
Week 3: July 15th to 19th, 2024 (5 days) *AVAILABLE*
Week 4: July 22nd to 26th, 2024 (5 days) *AVAILABLE*
Week 5: July 29th to August 2nd, 2024 (5 days) *FULL*
Week 6: August 6th to 9th, 2024 (4 days) *AVAILABLE*
Week 7: August 12th to 16th, 2024 (5 days) *FULL*
Week 8: August 19th to 23rd, 2024 (5 days) *AVAILABLE*
Week 9 : August 26th to 30th, 2024 (5 days) *FULL*

Full-day camps: 8:30am to 4pm daily. Extended care available from 4pm to 5:30pm at a nominal fee.
Half-day morning camps: 8:30am to 12pm daily. Parents to pick-up before 12:15pm.
Half-day afternoon camps: 12:30pm to 4pm daily. Extended care available from 4pm to 5:30pm at a nominal fee.

Location: Fraser Valley Chess Academy,
Unit 108 – 20486 64 Avenue, Langley, BC.

Registration is on a first-come basis! Admission fee range: CAD $290 – $450.

What to expect:
– Various classroom activities based on current skill level at chess.
– Separate pods as per grades in school/ age group.
– 3 breaks each for full day camps (total 1 hour): 15 min/ 30 min/ 15 min.
– Puzzle solving contest with explanation on strategy.
– Grandmaster game analysis with focus on key ideas that can be implemented in their gameplay.
– Personal feedback for each student on their areas of improvement/ strengths.
– Tournament style practice with post game analysis from our experts.
– Unrated standard chess tournament with prizes.
– Casual Bughouse tournament with prizes.
– Introduction to Chess 960 and its implementation in positional play.
– Math competition based on age group and strength with answer key discussion.
– Guidance on various math topics and how to participate in competitions.
– Fun-filled activities with short breaks to keep the kids engaged and fresh throughout the camp.
– Safe learning environment (indoors). Kids to carry their own lunch. Snacks may be provided.

SPECIAL DISCOUNTS & OFFERS:
1. We offer sibling discounts. Register the first kid at regular price and email us to obtain a custom promo code for a 10% discount on each additional sibling. Siblings can register in the same or different camp.

2. Register for a chess camp and get 10% off on an equivalent Robotics & Coding camp. Email us to obtain a custom promo code after registration of the first camp. For instance, you can sign up for 2 half-day camps in the same week or 2 separate full day weekly camps (Chess & STEM). Check out our STEM camps offered by Zebra Robotics, Langley.

3. Refer a friend. Both participants receive 5% discount. Email us the referral name to obtain a custom promo code. Offers cannot be combined with each other.

Policies and Guidelines:

1. Any player/ parent/ guardian with frequent coughing, sneezing, or other visible symptoms of illness may be asked to withdraw from the camp/ leave the premises.
2. If you have experienced COVID-19 or its symptoms in the past 14 days, we request you to voluntarily withdraw from the tournament for the health and safety of all our patrons. Face masks are recommended for all.
3. All electronics capable of making noise, communicating, or playing chess must be switched off during the event.
4. Anyone entering the venue premises consents to be photographed/ videos recorded. This footage may be used for internal references, social media marketing or promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be clicked/ recorded/ promoted – you may contact us via email and we will take care of your request.
5. The decision of the event organizers will be final in the event of a conflict.
6. Parents are requested to drop off and pick up the kids on time. We will not take any responsibility of the students after the completion of camp timings.
7.
