Okanagan Valley Rapid 4 (Feb 8th, 2024)
Okanagan Chess Academy is excited to continue hosting the Okanagan Valley Rapid series! This tournament is open to all age groups and skill levels including non-BC residents. Guaranteed $300 in prizes + medals. There is no player limit as we have arranged for additional space at the same venue.
*Skittles/ analysis area with chess equipment will be provided outside the main playing room. *
Format: Swiss Rapid, 15 min + 10 sec per move increment
Event type: CFC Quick Rated, 5 rounds
Sections: Open & U1300
*We may merge the sections into OPEN/ change sections split based on actual entries*
Early Bird Entry Fee: $40 + GST

Regular Entry Fee: $50 + GST
Regular Entry Deadline: Feb 7th, 2024
All withdrawal/ refund requests must be submitted by this deadline. Note that a $10 processing fee will apply to all refunds.
Free entry for players rated 2300 and up. Upon winning any prize money, the full entry fee will be deducted from the prize.

Unrated players who have opted to obtain their CFC membership on their own, must complete the same before round 1 starts and submit their CFC ID via email to us. Failure to do so may result in denied entry.

Note: Players do not receive a bonus time for the 1st illegal move from their opponent, while it is considered a warning and the 2nd illegal move shall lead to forfeit/ game loss. All other FIDE rules are applicable throughout the tournament.
