Goodbye 2025 FIDE OPEN (Dec 27-29, 2025)

Welcome to the Goodbye 2025 FIDE OPEN – Our FIDE-Rated Classical Tournament, Continuing the Legacy of Our 20XX Series! A unique opportunity to work on your FIDE and CFC ratings at the same time. And don’t miss out — we are adding a CFC-rated 10-round Blitz tournament as well (at no extra cost)!

Early Bird Entry Fee: $110 + GST
Early Bird Entry Deadline: Nov 22nd, 2025
Regular Entry Fee: $120 + GST
Regular Entry Deadline : December 26th, 2025, midnight
Free entry for players rated 2300 and up. Upon winning any prize money, the full entry fee will be deducted from the prize.

Format: FIDE Rated Classical (90 min + 30 sec increment per move) AND Blitz (3 min + 2 sec increment per move)

Schedule: 6 rounds (FIDE + CFC Rated), OPEN
Time control: 90 min + 30 sec increment per move

Round I: 10 AM, Dec 27th
Round II: 2:30 PM, Dec 27th
Round III: 10 AM, Dec 28th
Round IV: 2:30 PM, Dec 28th
Round V: 9:30 AM, Dec 29th
Round VI: 2:00 PM, Dec 29th
Prize ceremony: 4:45 PM or asap, Dec 29th

Bonus CFC-Rated 10-round Blitz:
Day 1 (Dec 27th): Rounds 1-5: Start time 6:30pm or ASAP
Day 2 (Dec 28th): Rounds 6-10: Start time 6:30pm or ASAP

We may split into sections based on entries.

Unrated players who have opted to obtain their CFC membership on their own, must complete the same before round 1 starts and submit their CFC ID via email to us. Failure to do so may result in denied entry.

This tournament follows all FIDE rules of Chess as per the applicable formats. Also refer the FIDE handbook

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) is the governing body of the sport of chess, and it regulates all international chess competitions. Constituted as a non-governmental institution, it was recognized by the International Olympic Committee as a Global Sporting Organization in 1999.

FIDE currently has its headquarters in Lausanne, but it was initially founded in 1924 in Paris under the motto “Gens una Sumus” (Latin for “We are one Family”). It was one of the very first International Sports Federations, alongside the governing bodies of the sports of Football, Cricket, Swimming, and Auto Racing. It is now one of the largest, encompassing 199 countries as affiliate members, in the form of National Chess Federations. Chess is nowadays a truly global sport, with dozens of millions of players in all the continents, and more than 60 million games on average played every day.
