You are invited to the 17th edition of the Langley Open 2024 Chess Tournament with a prize fund of $4,000 across various sections based on 150 entries. Happy surprise if we exceed 200 entries. Please refer to our rewards section for full details.

Langley Chess Club has been running strong since 1970s and they have been hosting this prestigious event since 2006. Langley Chess Club and Fraser Valley Chess Academy, in collaboration, will host the 2024 Langley Open at Douglas Park Community School in Langley, BC this year.

Sat, Aug 31st, 2024: Round 1: 10am start; Round 2: 3pm start
Sun, Sep 1st, 2024: Round 3: 10am start; Round 4: 3pm start
Mon, Sep 2nd, 2024: Round 5: 9am start; Round 6: 2pm start

Prize ceremony: 6pm to 6:15pm

Time Control: 90 mins + 30 secs increment (6 rounds)

Tournament Fee:
– Free entry: Players with over 2300 CFC/FIDE rating until Jun 30th, 2024 – midnight
– Early bird $90 + GST: Until Jul 10th, 2024 – midnight.
– Regular $105 + GST: Until Aug 29th, 2024 – midnight.
– Play-up fee: $30 if the player is within the 200 points range.

– Unrated players may play in the U1700 section without an extra fee upon request.
Family Discount: $20 per player from 2^nd family member onwards.
All withdrawal/ refund requests must be submitted by the registration deadline. Note that a $10 processing fee will apply to all refunds.
