Camp Details:

Fraser Valley Chess Academy and Zebra Robotics Langley are excited to organize the Spring Break Camp at HD Stafford Middle School this year. This camp is exclusive for current HD Stafford students. With a blend of Chess, Robotics and Minecraft Education, kids will have the opportunity to learn, explore and make memories with friends.

Drop-off and pickup from Community Room only. School access will be denied other than the camp classroom and nearest washrooms.

We are offering students in the Lunch Program free registrations into the Spring Break Camp on a first come, first served basis for up to 10 entries. We request that Lunch Program students contact Ms. Sandher at [email protected] to register. All other registrations should be done through the form at the bottom of this page.

Fee: $85 per student including taxes (free for Lunch Program students)
Registration deadline is Mar 15th, 2025 midnight. All refunds must be request by this deadline. A $10 refund fee applies.

What to expect during the camp:

Chess
– Tournament style practice with post game analysis from our experts
– Unrated standard chess tournament with prizes
– Casual bughouse tournament

Robotics
– Lessons on robot parts, assembly, and navigation
– Fun puzzles and mazes
– Collaborative challenges and tournament style competition

Minecraft Education
– Introduction to programming environment using MakeCode
– Lessons on programming concepts such as loops, conditional statements and functions
– Explore co-op Minecraft Education worlds with friends

Fee is inclusive of all taxes and administrative + management fee. The fee is for 10 sessions at Ecole Brantford Elementary School for after-school chess program during Fall 2024.

Policies and Guidelines:

1. By entering the school premises, you consent your student/ child to being photographed or recorded in videos. This footage may be used for internal references, social media marketing, or promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, recorded, or promoted, you can contact us via email at [email protected], and we will accommodate your request respectfully.
2. Registration will be on a first come first serve basis for paid students only.
3. Full refund can be requested via email before the program starts.
4. An administrative & processing fee of $10 is deducted for all refunds (full/ partial).
5. No refunds or credits for regular student absence.
6. All walk-home permissions/ consent must be in writing only. Verbal requests shall not be accepted. If you need to change the student's walk-home permission later on, please email us at [email protected].

8. HD Stafford, Fraser Valley Chess Academy, Zebra Robotics Langley and any of their staff/ affiliates will not be held liable for any injuries sustained while attending the Spring Camp. Attendees are solely responsible for their own safety.
