FVCA is excited to host the BC Youth Chess Championship for the first time! This is the official qualifier in BC for the 2026 Canadian Youth Chess Championship. Score 50% or more in any section of BCYCC 2026 to qualify for the same section in CYCC 2026.

First Place players in their section will receive the title of champion and have their name engraved on the section’s perpetual trophy, right alongside the names of the previous champions. The prize pool this year is $11070 in total, including CYCC travel subsidies, cash prizes, and FVCA gift vouchers.

Parking:
We have reserve a 7-stories parkade next to the playing area, exclusively for BCYCC participants and spectators. Subsidized parking passes will be available for purchase at a rate of $10/day. We recommend purchasing the parking pass in the registration form to avoid paying higher fees on site and any issues with parking tickets.

After purchasing the parking pass, there is no further action required form your side. Simply park in the designated area on the days of the events.

Skittles room available across the hall from the playing hall/gymnasium. Tables and chairs provided.
Relax room: Fitness Studio, one floor directly below Skittles room. (Stairs are right outside the door.) Chairs provided.
Large outdoor balcony.

Public transit access by bus.
4 minute walk to UniverCity; restaurants of various cuisines, grocery stores, and more.
Nearby parks for walking and relaxation.

Fees & Prizes

Early bird entry fee: $90 + GST until Dec 31st, 2025.
Regular entry fee
: $100 + GST. Registration closes Mar 18th, 2026.
Family discount: $10 from 2nd family member onwards.
Refunds and cancellations must be requested by Mar 10th, 2026. A $20 processing fee will apply to all refunds. Any cancellations after Mar 10th will not be refunded, but you can request a full refund in the form of store credits.

– $2520 in cash prizes
– $1200 worth gift vouchers for each winner that can be redeemable at any FVCA tournament in 2026
– Every section’s First Place or tied First Place – title of Champion and name(s) engraved on the section’s perpetual trophy
