We’re excited to be bringing a varied menu of chess programs to Burnaby! Register for lessons below.

Chess Club Blitz Series

We’ve extended our Chess Club Blitz series to our Burnaby location. Stay tuned for a monthly unrated blitz tournament, where you have a chance to get on the leaderboard!

Entry fee: $15 (50% off for club members).
Prize pool is 60% of event entries.

Timings: Sundays, 3:30pm to 6:00pm

Top 10 players on the Burnaby leaderboard will be invited to compete for an Inter-City Blitz tournament every quarter, along with the top players from our PoCo, Langley, and Abbotsford clubs.

Lessons

This Winter 2026, we’re excited to offer a set of 10 lessons in a term-based program. Please have a look at the schedule and complete the one-time registration using the form below.

Thursdays: 5:30pm to 7:00pm (90 mins)
*Batches will be split into groups based on skill level and age after registration.

Pricing:
Thursdays : $175 + GST ($17 per lesson)

Thursday Schedule: (Jan 15th to Mar 19th, 2026).
January Dates: Jan 15th, 22nd, & 29th, 2026.
February Dates: Feb 5th, & 12th, 19th, & 26th, 2026.
March Dates: Mar 5th, 12th, 19th, 2026.

Register by Jan 13th 2026, 7:00pm to secure your spot for all 10 lessons.

We are thankful to the Burnaby Hindu Temple for making this possible, and with their support we are able to bring high quality and affordable chess lessons to youth in Burnaby. Please note that our program is open to all people and community groups.

The one time fee covers the cost of student portal setup and administrative charges.

This give students access to our proprietary curriculum, practice through frequent online tournaments, challenge bots to increase their strength, and for us to track their progress, assignment homework, analyze their Lichess/ Chess.com games and much more.

1. The fees charged is by number of sessions and not monthly. If there are more than 4 sessions conducted in a month, additional fees will be due. 2. In the event of a session cancellation from FVCA due to a public holiday, Chess tournament or other circumstances like sickness/ weather, student will not be charged for that day and the session will carry forward. 3. Fees once paid is non-refundable. 4. If the student is absent in a group lesson, the session will be counted as done and study materials will be shared with them in the next class. 5. If a student is absent in a private lesson where they are the only attendee, then it will be considered to be carry forward with prior communication with the coach. 6. Batch timings, fees and locations are subject to change due to various factors and students/ parents will be given sufficient notice and reasonable time to plan ahead. 7. You are welcome to change batches/ locations with prior discussion with your coach.
