BC Youth Chess Championship 2027
Jan 23rd – 24th (Sat- Sun), 2027
Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport
FVCA is excited to host the BC Youth Chess Championship 2027 in partnership with Richmond Chess Champions! This is the officially sanctioned BC provincial qualifier for the 2027 Canadian Youth Chess Championship, taking place in Hamilton, Ontario. Any player who scores 50% or more in any section of the BCYCC 2027 automatically qualifies for the same section in CYCC 2027.
Winners in their section will receive the title of champion and have their names engraved on the section’s perpetual trophy, alongside the names of previous champions. The prize pool this year is $9,750 in total, including CYCC travel subsidies, FVCA & RCC gift vouchers. The BCYCC welcomes players of all skill levels, including beginners, and there are no rating barriers to entry, as sections are categorized by age groups.
Alongside the championship, we are also hosting our Winter Chess Tournament, which is open to players of all ages, including adults and seniors.
