We’re excited to be bringing even more chess programs to the City of Surrey, including our annual Surrey Rapid sponsored Cambridge Elementary School PAC, new lesson batches in the Fleetwood area, and adding Surrey into our roster of locations for exciting Chess Club Blitz tournaments. This year, we continue to offer in-person lessons in South Surrey, and are excited to introduce new batches in Fleetwood, coming soon from March 30th, 2026. Please have a look at the batches and timings, and complete the one-time registration using the form below.

Picky Pawns (Unrated to ELO 599, 60 mins) – $159 + GST/ month
Naughty Knights (For ELO 600 to 1099, 90 mins) – $189 + GST/ month
Relentless Rooks (For ELO 1100 to 1399, 2 hrs) – $209 + GST/ month

Fraser Valley Rapid 21:
Annual Surrey Rapid!
Fraser Valley Rapid 21 is our annual Surrey Rapid, now in it’s 3rd year, sponsored by the Cambridge Elementary School PAC! Additionally, this is the final CYCC 2026 qualifier for the year, and the U8, U12, and U16 sections are eligible for CYCC 2026 Qualification. However, the Open section will not be eligible, as it is a mixed age section open for adults.
Date: Apr 12th, 2026 (Sun)
Venue: Cambridge Elementary School, Surrey, BC
Format: Swiss Rapid, 15 min + 10 sec per move increment
Event type: CFC Quick Rated, 6 rounds
Sections: U8, U12, U16, OPEN
Early Bird Entry Fee: $35 + GST until
Regular Entry Fee: $40 + GST

Timing: Every Tuesday (6pm to 9pm)
Join us at chess club, where players of all ages and skill levels can come practice with each other in a friendly environment. Pr-registration on our website required, and the membership is free. Join using the link below.

Chess Club Blitz Series
We’re extending our Chess Club Blitz series to our Surrey location! Stay tuned for a monthly unrated blitz tournament, where you have a chance to get on the leaderboard!
Format: Unrated Blitz x 9 rounds.
Time control: 3min + 2 sec increment
Entry fee: $15 + GST (50% off for club members).
Prize pool is 60% of event entries.
Top 10 players on the Surrey leaderboard will be invited to compete for an Inter-City Blitz tournament every quarter, along with the top players from our Burnaby, Langley, PoCo, and Abbotsford clubs.
